Kindly recall we have already highlighted the period the Almighty God had granted the beast that the dragon, Satan, Lucifer the Devil empowers to curse him has expired. Next, we thoroughly examined why the Almighty God had granted the beast permission not only to make proud claims against him but to fight against and to defeat his people and what we came up with is not only astounding but mind-boggling.
Now, for the purposes of adducing answers to why my Heavenly Father hitherto granted the beast the said permissions, you may recall the circumcision rite, which is a physical sign of the Abrahamic Old Covenant of Promise that the Almighty God commands Abram and his descendants to have and to always do what is right. God commands him to be righteous always because He was going to make a covenant with him and his descendant and to make him ancestor of many nations. As the Good News Bible records, “You also must agree to keep the covenant with me, both you and your descendants must all agree to circumcise every male among you. From now on you must circumcise every boy when he is eight days old, including slaves born in your homes and slaves bought from foreigners. This will show that there is a covenant between you and me. Each one must be circumcised, and this will be a physical sign to show that my covenant with you is everlasting. Any male who has not been circumcised will no longer be considered one of my people, because he has not kept the covenant with me.” Genesis 17: 1-14.
In the hay days of the Old Covenant of Promise now fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the offshoot of the Christianity, the Good News Bibles demonstrates the awesomeness of the Almighty God and how He is a covenant keeping God in what it christens, crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 14: 1-31). It highlights how Moses held out his hands over the Red Sea while the LORD drove back the water with a strong east wind that blew all night and turned the sea into a dry land; it made it possible for the Israelites and their flocks of animals to go through with walls of water on both sides of the Red Sea. It also records how the Egyptians pursued the Israelites into the sea with their horses and drivers. As the records goes, “Just before dawn the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw them into a panic. He made the wheels of their chariots get stuck, so that they moved with great difficulty. The Egyptians said, ‘The LORD is fighting for the Israelites against us. Let’s get out of here!’ Oh no! It is too late to cry when the head is off. Most unfortunately for the Egyptians, the water returned and covered the Egyptian army and their chariots that had pursued the Israelites into the Red Sea. The Israelites then saw dead bodies of the Egyptian army and horses of chariots lying on the seashore. When the Jewish people saw the great power with which the LORD had defeated the Egyptians, they stood in awe of the Almighty God, which further renewed their faith in him and his faithful servant, Moses.
However, in the aegis of the New Testament Bible, we crave your indulgence to recall the transfiguration episode (Matthew 17: 1-13) when Moses the Law Giver and Elijah the Representative of the prophets and the psalms had successfully completed their races under the tenet of the annulled Old Covenant of Promise came to render their stewardship to the Son of God who was then about to enunciate the tenet of the New Covenant of Grace. In the epoch making encounter, the Good News Bible records while Peter was yet speaking that a shining cloud covers the Lord Jesus Christ, Moses and Elijah and a distinct and unmistakable voice from the Almighty God heralds, “This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased – listen to him!” Also you may have read about the lamentation of the Lord Jesus Christ over the altitude of the authorities of the Jewish authorities towards him whom he avows he had always wanted to put his arms round them just as a hen would her chicks under her wings, but they woefully failed to allow him. Therefore, the Son of God tells them that their Temple would be abandoned and desolate. Adding from thence that his Fellow-Jews would never see him again until they had learnt to say, ‘God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord!’ (Matthew 23: 37-39; 24: 1-28.
Kindly again recall the injunction to the reader to note and understand the meaning of ‘The Awful Horror,” which the prophet Daniel spoke and what we found is another mind-boggling! The saga is what our working Bible christens, Jason Introduces Greek Customs. It reads, “Later, when King Seleucus died and Antiochus (known as Epiphanes) became king, Jason the brother of Onias became High Priest by corrupt means. He went to see the king and offered him 12,000 kilograms of silver with 2,700 more kilograms to be paid later. … Jason also did away with our Jewish customs and introduced new customs that were contrary to our customs. … Antiochus now issued a decree that all nations in his empire should abandon their own customs and become one people. All the Gentiles and even many of the Israelites submitted to this decree. They adopted the official pagan religion, offered sacrifices to idols, and no longer observed the Sabbath: … On the twenty-fifth of the month, these same evil men offered sacrifices on the pagan altar erected on top of the altar in the Temple. Mothers who had allowed their babies to be circumcised were put to death in accordance with the king’s decree. Their babies were hung round their necks, and their families and those who had circumcised them were put to death. But many people in Israel firmly resisted the king’s decree and refused to eat food that was ritually unclean. They preferred to die rather than break the holy covenant and eat unclean food – and many did die. In his anger God made Israel suffer terribly.” 2 Maccabees 4: 1-7; 1 Maccabees 1: 33-64.
In other words, the Lord Jesus Christ in the awful horror episode simply foretells of a repeat performance of Jason the younger brother of the then High Priest Onias action who corruptly became the Jewish High Priest by betraying his elder brother. Simply put, the Lord reveals before the destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem that his young brother, James, the first consecrated Christian Bishop in Jerusalem through probably corrupt means, like Jason, would have equally betrayed him! Hence the Apostle Paul the Great declares,”But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him in public, because he was clearly wrong. Before some men who had been sent by James arrived there, Peter had been eating with the Gentile brothers. But after these men arrived, he drew back and would not eat with the Gentiles, because he was afraid of those who were in favor of circumcising them.” Galatians 2: 11-12. So, please match the treasonable felony committed by James against the Lord Jesus Christ with that of the Jewish authorities that woefully failed to listen to the voice of the Almighty God who commands them to listen and adhere to the teachings on the tenet of the New Covenant of Grace the beloved Son Jesus the Christ enunciates thereby making God a liar.
It is not surprising, therefore, Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, in an article titled, Siege of Jerusalem (AD 70) and in a subtitle, Casualties and Loses, highlights, “According to the records of Josephus, 1.1 million non-combatants died in Jerusalem, mainly as a result of the violence and famine. Many of the casualties were observant Jews from across the world such as Babylon and Egypt who had traveled to Jerusalem wanting to celebrate the yearly Passover but instead got trapped in the chaotic siege. … Now as soon as the army had no more people to slay or plunder, because there remained none to be the object of their fury (for they would not have spared any, had there remained any other work to be done), (Titus) Caesar gave orders that they should now demolish the entire city and Temple … The destruction was an important point in the separation of Christianity from its root: many Christians responded by distancing themselves from the rest of Judaism, as reflected in the Gospels which portray Jesus as anti-Temple and the destruction as punishment for rejection of Jesus.”
Having so gruesomely defeated the hitherto unconquerable “Chosen race” and or children of Israel in the said battle and having totally destroyed the King Solomon’s magnificent Temple that the then Roman Emperors rightly or wrongly assumed that they had fully conquered the Jewish race and their God hence the aforementioned boast.
To vividly drive home the point, the Good News Bible in the introductions to the Acts of the Apostles and Paul’s Letter to the Galatians and to that extent, the Christendom, posits in part thus, The Acts of the Apostles is a continuation of the Gospel according to Luke. Its chief purpose is to tell how Jesus’s early followers, led by the Holy Spirit, spread the Good News about him in ‘in Jerusalem, in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth’ (1.8). It is the stories of the Christian movement as it began among the Jewish people and went on to become a faith for the whole world. The writer was concerned to reassure his reader that the Christians were not a subversive political threat to the Roman Empire and that the Christian faith was the fulfillment of the Jewish religion. Acts may be divided into three principal parts, reflecting the ever widening area in which the Good News about Jesus was proclaimed and the church established: (1) the beginning of the Christian movement in Jerusalem following the ascension of Jesus; (2) expansion into other parts of Palestine; and (3) further expansion, into the Mediterranean world as far as Rome. An important feature of Acts is the activities of the Holy Spirit who comes with power upon the believers in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost and continues to guide and strengthen the church and its leaders throughout the events reported in the book. The early Christian message is summarized in a number of sermons, and the events recorded in Acts show the power of this message in the lives of the believers and in the fellowship of the church. … As the good news about Jesus began to be preached and welcomed among people who were not Jews, the question arose whether a person most obey the Law of Moses in order to be a true Christian. Paul had argued (and continues to argue) that this was not necessary – that in fact, the only sound basis for life in Christ was faith, by which all are put right with God. But among the churches of Galatia, a Roman province in Asia Minor, (which is now the order of day in the entire Christendom), there had come people who opposed Paul and claimed that one must also observe the Law of Moses in order to be right with God. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians was written in order to bring back to true faith and practice those people who were being misled by this false teaching. Paul begins by defending his right to be called an apostle of Jesus Christ. He insists that his call to be an apostle came from God, not from any human authority, and that his mission was especially to the non-Jews. Then he develops the argument that it is by faith alone that people put right with God. In the concluding chapters, Paul shows that Christians conduct flows naturally from the love that results from faith in Christ.”
Instead of continuing in the tradition of the early church, it is most unfortunate that the contemporary Church Leaders are trending the path that earns their Judaism Religion counterparts condemnations from the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 23: 1-39) even when the Law had not yet then been fulfilled that laid much emphasis on payment of tithe and first-fruits offering. To round-up this segment, we must not fail to confess that due to the spirit of materialism, which has taken over the entire Christendom that those who even know the truth about the true tenet of the New Covenant of Grace continue to preach the highly adulterated version because of the material gain that they derive, which will be addressed in the next part.
